Ripley’s: Believe the Unbelievable
The museum’s main hall, the Odditorium, features many of Ripley’s permanent exhibits. The Odditorium is filled with shrunken heads, car-part sculptures, and an authentic vampire killing kit, as well as multimedia stories of crazy achievements and many games and activities for the whole family.
Visitors can venture off to the Titanic Room to see the peculiar history of the doomed vessel. Both adults and children can dip their hands in wax, play maze games, and measure themselves against the tallest man on earth. Floating cars, a jungle gym, and some absurdly ambitious art are all included in the museum. Be sure to take lots of pictures!
General admission to the museum is $18 for adults and $14 for children. There is ample parking in the museum lot. The museum suggests you allot about two hours to explore the sights and attractions.
Extra Attractions
While Ripley’s has some universal objects and exhibits, it also has a few unique, location-specific experiences. At the Panama City Beach location, there are three extra attractions – must-sees for all visitors:
- The 7D Moving Theater: The 7D Moving Theater is a thrilling experience. Slap on your 3D glasses to see dinosaurs and other crazy, life-like creatures popping out of the screen. Curious where the extra four dimensions come in? Take a seat, hang on, and feel the dips, bumps, and jolts as you experience one of the three films.
- Impossible Laser: Channel your inner Tom Cruise and attempt to get from one side of the room to the other, without getting hit by the green lasers. This might actually Mission: Impossible. This challenge costs $11 for adults and $10 for children.
- Mirror Maze: The mirror maze plays tricks on the mind and challenges perception. Find your way out the maze avoiding hundreds of “yous.” Admission to the maze is $11 for adults and $10 for children.
All of the above extra attractions can be purchased as combination packages or individually. Combos vary from about $30 to $15 per person, depending on the attractions. All packages including entrance to the Odditorium, and one or two extra experiences.
