What is Gator Country?

Gator Country in Panama City Beach is an incredible airboat tour company (a short distance from your Panama City Beach condo rental) that takes you out into the wild for an informative and interactive experience. The company prides itself on its years of experience in the tourist industry. It has been given incredible reviews by all of its patrons. If you have the desire to see alligators and other magnificent wildlife in their natural habitat, then this is the place to be for sure! However, as these animals are not in captivity, the company doesn’t guarantee any sightings. Still, they do everything they can to find interesting viewing opportunities during your tour.

What to Expect

When you first arrive, guests will all participate in a class where they will learn all there is to know about alligators in the wild. Whether you are a young kid or an adult, you will find the class educational and entertaining. Afterward, you are invited to view the captive gators they have and even touch and hold one of the smaller ones!

You will then head out on your one-hour airboat tour of the area, where, with any luck, you will view alligators and various other wildlife in their natural habitat! The tour guide will offer you a running commentary during the tour, showing you the various plants and animals as they come up, and answering any questions you might have on your Panama City Beach boat tours.

When you arrive back at base, you will have the opportunity to witness a gator show with “Bubba,” their 7-foot alligator that has been trained by voice and hand commands. This is a unique experience as Bubba is one of the only gators in the world to be trained to obey commands. You will have plenty to talk about when you return to your Panama City Beach condo rental after such an eventful activity.

Guest Information

The cost will truly depend on what you are looking to do while at Airboat Adventures. It is $34 per person for just a tour and $22 for children (ages 2-12). This only includes your ride around the water to view the alligators and other animals in their habitat. If you are looking to take part in the petting park, this will be an additional cost, as will the gator show. 

While the airboat rides are all done during the day, we suggest bringing a light sweater with you for when you are out on the water. Airboats are very fast, and the breeze is usually enough to give you a bit of a chill, even in the summer sun. We also suggest wearing plenty of sunscreen while you are doing the tour. There is very little shade to an airboat road, and it is very easy to get sunburnt during the hour on the water.
