There are 20 golf courses within 40 miles of Panama City Beach. Golf Digest magazine ranked Panama City Beach as the best little golf town in America in 2002. Bay Point’s 36 holes, include the Lagoon Legend, once ranked as the most difficult golf course in the world. Its course rating of 75.3 and slope rating of 152 still rank among the world’s toughest. The Hombre Golf Club features 27 holes (each nine has its own personality and are affectionately known as the ‘good’ the ‘bad’ and the ‘ugly’). Hombre annually hosts the second stage of PGA Tour qualifying. Other courses include Holiday Golf Club (a bit tamer than Hombre and Bay Point), Shark’s Tooth (a Greg Norman design), Signal Hill (even tamer than Holiday), and Nature Walk (an executive course in Lynn Haven).
